Black Prong is primarily located on the west side of County Road 337 below County Road 316 and above County Road 326.
The Black Prong area centers around the Black Prong Equestrian Center and occupies 250 acres within the 53,000 acre of the Goethe State Forest.

The facility, an “Equestrian’s Heaven” has immaculate landscaping and Classical & Celtic music playing in the stable areas.
Designed for carriage driving, ridden dressage, endurance riding and trail riding, the facility is equipped with nine regulation size dressage arenas, practice obstacles and a marathon course, over 150 miles of horseback riding trails in the Goethe State Forest as well as acres of trurnout area and world-renowned trainers.

The name Black Prong is taken from a creek within the Goethe State Forest.
“Prong” means a fork in a creek and with the rich vegetation surrounding it, tannic acids leaching into the creek causes the water to appear “Black”.
